Ghosts and Hauntology

Some notes and discussion around the essay ‘Digital Ghosts’: Voice and Migratory Hauntings, written by Nermin Saybasili.

There are a lot of ideas on the audio visual, how images and sound work together, but for now I’m just going to focus on the ‘ghosts’.

The first few pages focus on the viewpoint I am looking for in my audio paper. Peripheral towns where the youth find connection to the world through the diasporic digital space. Distant realities weaved into the present. ‘ the global village’

‘Being half there and half not or half this and half that, it leaves a ‘trace’ that marks the present with its absence in advance.
