During our first crits a few things came up.
The most valuable part of it was seeing how other groups organized themselves and what they managed to do so far.
It seemed to me that the one that managed to get the most work done so far smoothly was Dean’s group. Their approach was different in that they had no assigned roles. They all worked communaly on the same scenes through a shared drive folder.
I think our approach of assigned roles made things difficult mainly because the visuals were being done at the same time.
Since one of our IMMR students has not been very present as well, working together on each room seems like a safer option in the eventuality that not all of the rooms end up being made.
These are some of the notes I made for the upcoming meeting:
-decide how we’re going to move on forward;
-work together on one room at a time?
-establish smaller deadlines: bedroom done by Wednesday, 29th?
-work on the bedroom first, painting scene afterwards.
-gather details about the painting scene, understand the intention. Also, is there a church?
-music? Should there be music? how are we going to collaborate on that?
-pc – narrative – character made of wires – monitor head – following you – surveillance room
-book – poems – beach forest, city scape
-what instruments are we going to be using in the music box room (urgent for Rosa!): piano, harp, flute, cello, violin
Meeting outcome: We agreed on smaller deadlines and on working together on one room at a time. Rysia came with a melodic idea for the music box scene which she’s happy to have us expand.
*Update: We tried using a spreadsheet where we can update what everyone is working on and the status we’re in. It did not work too well. Gathering people for zoom meetings throughout the holiday was difficult as well.
